Travel Advisory

December 19, 2025

The Contractor is scheduled to continue construction phase work on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. No work is scheduled for Thursday 12/25 or Friday 12/26.

Roadway and Sidewalk Information

  • Delays are possible due to construction activities.
  • Construction vehicles will continue to enter and exit the work areas on Rumson Road in Rumson and on Route 36 in Sea Bright.
  • The sidewalk on the north side of the bridge is closed.

Waterway Information

Channel information for 12/19/25 to 12/30/25:

  • 5 p.m. Friday 12/19 through 7 a.m. Monday 12/22: Horizontal clearance of 65 feet
  • 7 a.m. Monday 12/22 through 5 p.m. Tuesday 12/30
  • 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Daily, Monday-Friday: Horizontal clearance of 35 feet
  • Evenings & weekends: Horizontal clearance of 65 feet
  • No work on 12/25 or 12/26: Horizontal clearance of 65 feet

Dates are subject to change based on weather conditions. Any schedule changes or impacts to river traffic will be posted to this page.

The US Coast Guard (USCG) has jurisdiction over the navigational channel. To facilitate the demolition of the old bridge, USCG has granted permission for width reductions and partial closures of the channel for the duration of the demolition activities. Monmouth County must comply with instructions from USCG.
