Channel and Bridge Opening Information as of May 20, 2025

Mariners should be aware of the following information:

HALF CHANNEL BRIDGE OPENINGS WEDNESDAY 5/21 – FRIDAY 5/23

  • Horizontal clearance of 37.5 feet is scheduled to be open for marine travel starting at 10 a.m.  – one span, either east or west, will be in the down position on an as-needed basis for construction.

FULL CHANNEL BRIDGE OPENINGS RESUME FRIDAY EVENING 5/23/25

  • Horizontal clearance of 75 feet is scheduled to be open for marine travel. Bridge openings will follow the summer schedule:
  • Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. – bridge opens on the hour
  • All other times – bridge opens on signal

Dates and times are subject to change based on weather conditions and production factors.

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has jurisdiction over the navigational channel. USCG has granted permission for the partial closures of the channel and for the temporary deviation from normal drawbridge operations. Monmouth County must comply with the dates approved by the USCG.
