To facilitate demolition of the old bridge, the navigational channel under the new bridge will be subject to width reductions and partial closures until further notice.
The link under the boat icon on the Home page will direct mariners to the Travel Advisory page for the most up-to-date channel information. Regular updates will be posted to the Travel Advisory page of the website for the duration of the demolition activity.
For 12/12/25 to 12/19/25, the following width reductions and partial closures are scheduled:
- 7 a.m. Friday 12/12 through 7 a.m. Monday 12/15 – Horizontal clearance of 65 feet
- 7 a.m. Monday 12/15 through 5 p.m. Friday 12/19 – Horizontal clearance of 35 feet
Dates are subject to change based on weather conditions. Any schedule changes or impacts to river and roadway traffic will continue to be posted to the Travel Advisory page of this website.
The US Coast Guard (USCG) has jurisdiction over the navigational channel and has granted permission for the channel width reductions and partial closures. Monmouth County must comply with instructions from USCG.
Information is also available in the weekly USCG Local Notice to Mariners.
